Only changes confirmed by an official or primary source are listed — a ministry, the Japan Tourism Agency, JR companies, airports or the operator concerned. Rumours and unconfirmed reports are left out, and each item shows the date it was written so you can judge how current it is. Where a change alters the advice in one of our guides, the guide is updated on the same day and linked from the item.
