Pokémon Center Tokyo in 2026: DX, Mega Tokyo and the other shops compared, with prices, busy-day tickets, tax-free and Osaka

Tokyo and the cities around it have several official Pokémon shops, and they are not all the same. Pokémon Center TOKYO DX in Nihombashi sits next to the Pokémon Cafe, Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO in Ikebukuro has a sweets counter, a card corner and a Pokémon GO space under the same roof, and the small Pokémon Store at Tokyo Station is a quick stop on the way to a train. This guide helps you choose between them. It covers the hours, where each shop is and how to get there, the numbered tickets used on busy days, what the new goods cost, how to pay, tax-free shopping, the October events and how Tokyo compares with Osaka, Kyoto and Yokohama. Everything comes from the official Japanese and English websites of the Pokémon Center shops and The Pokémon Company, read on Friday 16 October 2026. The pages are listed under Sources at the end.

In short

For most visitors the choice is between Pokémon Center TOKYO DX, on 5F of Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building next to the Pokémon Cafe, open 10:30 to 21:00, and Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO, on 2F of Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, open 10:00 to 20:00, with Pikachu Sweets, a Pokémon Card Station and Pokémon GO Lab. in the same place. Go to DX if you have a Pokémon Cafe booking or are staying near Tokyo Station or Ginza, and to Mega Tokyo if you want the most to do in one visit. Pokémon Center SHIBUYA (Shibuya PARCO 6F) and Pokémon Center SKYTREE TOWN (Solamachi 4F) are easy to add to a day in those areas, and both stay open until 21:00. You can usually walk in, but on busy days each shop may hand out numbered tickets for entry, one per person and only to the person entering. Payment is by credit card, code payment or transport IC card. The official pages read for this guide do not mention tax-free sales, so ask at the till and carry your passport.

Pokémon Center Tokyo at a glance

Which Pokémon Center to visit in Tokyo

The shop pages do not give floor areas, so we cannot tell you which one is the biggest. What they do list is what each shop has next door, and that is the easiest way to choose.

The Pokémon Company describes the two kinds of shop differently. A Pokémon Center is the official shop for games, cards and original goods, and it runs card classes and battles. A Pokémon Store carries mainly the popular goods and is meant as a place to drop in. It also notes that the range and the stock differ from shop to shop.

Pick a Pokémon Center by what you want

  • A Pokémon Cafe meal: TOKYO DX. The cafe is in the same building and needs a booking. See our Pokémon Cafe reservation guide.
  • The most in one visit: MEGA TOKYO, with sweets, cards and Pokémon GO in the same place.
  • An evening visit: DX, SHIBUYA or SKYTREE TOWN, which stay open until 21:00.
  • A stop before a train: Pokémon Store Tokyo Station, by the Nihombashi Exit.
  • Cards: start with our Pokémon card guide, which covers card sales, lotteries and the Card Stations.

Pokémon Center TOKYO DX (Nihombashi)

TOKYO DX is the central choice. It is on the 5th floor of Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building, 2-11-2 Nihombashi, Chuo-ku, and it opens every day from 10:30 to 21:00, the latest closing of the Tokyo shops along with Shibuya and Skytree Town.

DX also holds card classes and battles (see the October events below). On very busy days it has handed out timed tickets for entry, starting on the ground floor of the East Building at about 8:00, so read the shop's news page the evening before a big release.

Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO (Ikebukuro)

MEGA TOKYO is in Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. The address is Sunshine City ALPA 2F, 3-1-2 Higashi-Ikebukuro, Toshima-ku, and it is open every day from 10:00 to 20:00.

What makes Mega Tokyo different is what sits around it. The shop page lists three other Pokémon places at the same address.

Next to Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO

  • Pikachu Sweets by Pokémon Cafe: a sweets and drinks counter, 10:00 to 20:00. Our Pokémon Cafe guide covers it.
  • Pokémon Card Station: a space for card games, used for the card classes and battles.
  • Pokémon GO Lab.: a Pokémon GO space in the same place.

Ikebukuro Station is served by more lines, but Higashi-Ikebukuro on the Yurakucho Line is the closer station, about 3 minutes away against about 8.

Pokémon Center SHIBUYA

Pokémon Center SHIBUYA is on the 6th floor of Shibuya PARCO, 15-1 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya-ku, about 5 minutes on foot from Shibuya Station. It opens every day from 10:00 to 21:00. The shop page lists no cafe or card space alongside it, so it is a shopping stop rather than a half-day out.

Shibuya sometimes runs its own extras. On Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026 it held a T-shirt design lab, open only to people who had won an advance lottery, with one item per person. The notice said winners could still go in when the shop was limiting entry, and that you design for up to 20 minutes and collect the shirt about an hour later. Watch the Shibuya news page for the next one.

Pokémon Center SKYTREE TOWN

Pokémon Center SKYTREE TOWN is on 4F of the East Yard of Tokyo Solamachi, the shopping mall at the foot of Tokyo Skytree, at 1-1-2 Oshiage, Sumida-ku. It is right by Tokyo Sky Tree and Oshiage stations and opens every day from 10:00 to 21:00, so it pairs well with an evening trip up the tower.

On Saturday 10 October 2026 the shop formed a queue for entry and said it might hand out numbered tickets to people in it. Those arriving for opening were asked to gather at area 12 on 4F of the East Yard, by the automatic doors.

Pokémon Center TOKYO-BAY and YOKOHAMA

Two more Pokémon Centers are a train ride outside Tokyo. Neither is worth the trip on its own if you have DX and Mega Tokyo on your list, but both are handy if you are already nearby.

Pokémon Centers just outside Tokyo

  • TOKYO-BAY: LaLaport TOKYO-BAY West Wing 2F, 2-1-1 Hama-cho, Funabashi, Chiba. About 5 minutes from Minami-Funabashi Station or about 10 minutes from the south exit of Funabashi Keibajo Station. 10:00 to 20:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 21:00 at weekends. It has a Pokémon Card Station.
  • YOKOHAMA: Yokohama Sky Building 8F, 2-19-12 Takashima, Nishi-ku. 3 minutes from Yokohama Station on JR and Keikyu, 5 minutes from the Tokyu Toyoko and Minatomirai lines. 10:30 to 20:30.

TOKYO-BAY is inside the LaLaport TOKYO-BAY mall. The shop page says there is a free shuttle bus and that the first hour of parking is free. It is also a reminder that closures happen: the shop closed for the day on Monday 21 September 2026 because of Typhoon No. 25.

YOKOHAMA is busy at weekends this autumn. For Saturday 17, Sunday 18, Saturday 24, Sunday 25 and Saturday 31 October 2026 it gives out timed entry tickets from 9:30, on the 2F pedestrian deck of Yokohama Sky Building until 12:00 and at the 10F SOGO walkway after that. If you get a ticket for the first slot, 10:30 to 11:00, you gather between 10:10 and 10:20 in the B2 lift hall of the building. From Tuesday 13 October the 8F walkway from SOGO is closed for building work, so use the 9F or 10F walkway.

Pokémon Store Tokyo Station

Pokémon Store Tokyo Station is on 1F of First Avenue Tokyo Station, at 1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku. It is about 1 minute from the Nihombashi Exit and opens every day from 10:00 to 20:30.

It is a store, not a Center, so expect the popular goods rather than the full range, and no card classes or battles. It is the one to use if you are catching a Shinkansen and want a last souvenir. Our Pokémon card guide explains why it is not the place to look for new card products.

Busy days: numbered tickets for entry

The shops are open to walk in on most days. The FAQ says that depending on how crowded it is, a shop may issue numbered tickets or limit entry, and it tells you to check the news page or ask the shop. The notices read for this guide were all for Saturdays and Sundays, including Saturday 10 October 2026, when new goods went on sale.

The rules are much the same in each notice read for this guide:

How a busy day works at a Pokémon Center

  • Check the shop's news page the day before. Each shop posts its own notice, with the date, the place to gather and the time tickets start.
  • Go to the meeting place, not the shop door.At DX in September 2026 this was the lift hall on 1F of the East Building from about 8:00. At Yokohama it is the 2F pedestrian deck from 9:30.
  • Everyone queues in person.Tickets are given one per person, only to the person who will enter. Nobody can collect one for a friend.
  • Arrive together. You cannot join friends part way down the queue.
  • Come back at your time.Ticket times cannot be chosen or changed, and a ticket is void if you miss your slot or lose it.

Queues can carry on after you get inside. The DX and Yokohama notices warn that paying may take a long time, so allow for it before a booking at the Pokémon Cafe or a train.

Pokémon Center prices: what the new goods cost

The Pokémon Company announces each new range of Pokémon Center goods on its official site, with a price for every item. All the prices below include tax, as the pages state. Each page also says that the range and stock differ by shop, that some items may have a limit per customer, and that it has not been decided whether the Yokohama Satellite shop will carry them.

Range In the shops from Examples and prices
Pokémon Timeless Adventure Saturday 3 October 2026 A4 clear file 495 yen, sticker 770 yen, acrylic key ring 935 yen, acrylic block 2,860 yen, roll cookies 1,760 yen

Some goods come in blind packs. The Denki Chodai! acrylic charms, 880 yen, hold one of seven designs at random, and the Lumiose plush collection holds one of five, so you cannot pick which one you get. The rice cookies have a note of their own: the page says they are made without 29 allergenic ingredients.

Paying at a Pokémon Center

The English FAQ is short and clear. On payment it says: "We accept credit cards, code payments, and transit IC cards." It adds that the brands accepted may vary by shop and facility.

Pokémon Center shopping rules, from the FAQ

  • No holds: "We apologize, but we do not offer in-shop hold services." The FAQ suggests going early or using the online shop.
  • Returns: within 14 days of purchase, if the item is unopened and unused, at the shop where you bought it, with your receipt.
  • Stock and restocks: "As a general rule, we do not provide specific information regarding product availability or restock schedules."
  • Limits: "quantity limits may apply to certain items." Look for notices in the shop or on the news page.

Because shops will not say what is in stock, the easiest way to check is to go. If one shop has sold out, another may not have, because every goods page says the range and stock differ by shop.

Tax-free shopping at Pokémon Center

The Pokémon Center pages read for this guide do not say whether the shops offer tax-free sales, so ask at the till before you pay and have your passport with you. Japan's tax-free system changes on 1 November 2026, when it moves to a refund system. Our tax-free shopping guide explains how it works.

Pokémon cards at Pokémon Center Tokyo

Cards are the reason many people visit, and they have their own rules: new card products are often sold by lottery, some shops have tried face recognition at the till, and only some shops have a Pokémon Card Station. We cover all of that in our Pokémon card guide, so this guide does not repeat it. In short, MEGA TOKYO and TOKYO-BAY have Card Stations, and Pokémon Store Tokyo Station is not the place to look for new card products.

Pokémon Center events in October 2026

Each Pokémon Center posts a monthly events calendar. From Saturday 3 to Saturday 31 October 2026, Pokémon Centers across Japan are holding Halloween events, and the details are on the official Pokémon website. These are the events still to come in Tokyo after 16 October.

Pokémon Center events in Tokyo, late October 2026

  • Halloween Pikachu meet-and-greet, MEGA TOKYO: Pikachu in a Halloween cape, at 11:00, 13:00 and 15:00 on 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31 October, in the Union Room. Tickets are given out in front of the Union Room from 9:30, one per person, and the whole group must queue together.
  • Pikachu meet-and-greet, SKYTREE TOWN: Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October at 11:00, 14:00 and 16:00. Tickets from 9:00 at area 12 on 4F of the East Yard.
  • Card class for children: MEGA TOKYO on 17, 18, 24 and 25 October, SHIBUYA on 18 and 25 October and SKYTREE TOWN on 24 October.
  • Casual card battles: DX on 21, 25, 28 and 31 October, MEGA TOKYO on 17, 20, 24 and 27 October, SHIBUYA on 18 October and SKYTREE TOWN on 25 October.

The card class is for children of primary-school age and younger. Bring an official ID that shows their age, such as a passport, and a phone or tablet logged in to the Pokémon Card Game Trainers Website. Each child gets a paper play mat. The casual battles are open to all ages, but you need to be registered with the Players Club, bring a 60-card deck and a logged-in device, and play at least three games with one win to get the promo card, an Eevee. If more people come than there are places, there is a draw.

Events can be moved, changed or cancelled without notice, and they differ by shop, so check the calendar for the shop you plan to visit.

Pokémon Center Tokyo vs Osaka and Kyoto

If your trip takes in Osaka or Kyoto, you may wonder whether to save your shopping for later. Here is how the shops compared on 16 October 2026.

Shop Where Hours Next door
Pokémon Center TOKYO DX Nihombashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building 5F 10:30–21:00 Pokémon Cafe TOKYO
Pokémon Center MEGA TOKYO Sunshine City ALPA 2F, Ikebukuro 10:00–20:00 Pikachu Sweets, Card Station, Pokémon GO Lab.
Pokémon Center OSAKA DX Daimaru Shinsaibashi Main Building 9F 10:00–20:00 Pokémon Cafe OSAKA
Pokémon Center OSAKA LUCUA SOUTH 13F, Umeda 10:00–20:00 Pokémon Card Station
Pokémon Center KYOTO SUINA-MUROMACHI 2F, Shijo-dori 10:00–20:00 —

Tokyo vs Osaka. Osaka has the same pairing as Tokyo: OSAKA DX in Shinsaibashi sits next to a Pokémon Cafe, and is linked to Exit 4 of Shinsaibashi Station by an underground walkway. Pokémon Center OSAKA in Umeda is about 5 minutes from the central exit of JR Osaka Station and has a Card Station. Both close at 20:00, an hour earlier than DX. Osaka has busy days too: on Saturday 10 October 2026 OSAKA DX sold the Denki Chodai! goods in a separate sales area by numbered ticket only, with each group leaving before the next came in, and Pokémon Center OSAKA handed out timed entry tickets from about 8:00.

You apply for that lottery through LUCUA SOUTH, not the Pokémon Center, which says it cannot answer questions about it. If you are in Osaka that week, OSAKA DX in Shinsaibashi is the simpler choice.

Tokyo vs Kyoto. Pokémon Center KYOTO is on 2F of SUINA-MUROMACHI on Shijo-dori, connected to Exit 26 of Karasuma Station on the Hankyu line, and near Shijo Station on the subway and the Shijo Karasuma bus stop. It has no cafe or card space listed next door, so treat it as a handy shop if you are already in central Kyoto rather than a reason to wait.

Pokémon Center near Tokyo Station and Ginza

Two Pokémon shops are close to Tokyo Station, which makes them easy to fit around a Shinkansen.

Pokémon shops near Tokyo Station

  • Pokémon Store Tokyo Station: First Avenue Tokyo Station 1F, about 1 minute from the Nihombashi Exit. 10:00 to 20:30.
  • Pokémon Center TOKYO DX: 5 minutes on foot from the Yaesu North Exit. 10:30 to 21:00.

If you are staying in Ginza, DX is the nearest Pokémon Center. Nihombashi Station on the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, which also runs through Ginza, connects straight to the Takashimaya building through Exit B2.

Which Pokémon Center should you choose?
